At least that seems a reasonable conclusion to draw from the fact that this story is headlined "Family to sue hospital after botched surgery".
My heart goes out to the family here, and if the surgeons did err, then I hope that they are able to obtain some sort of justice for their loss; but it doesn't seem that difficult surgeons could perform brain surgery perfectly and still leave a patient paralyzed as a result.
