All Good Things...

In a lot of ways, I have come to think of the Emirates as a second home. I have loved my job and the friends that I have made at work. But the time has come for me to rejoin the family, so in three weeks, I will be packing up and heading back to the US and Bss and the kids.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed here.

WOW - I remember when you first started posting!

All the very best for your return, and thanks for the interesting posts over the years. Your mosques and roundabout images should be published in a book!

cheers
nzm

So is this it then? No new posts when you get home? That would be a shame. I'll bet the US looks very different after being away so long.

thanks nzm - I remember when I starting posting too ;)

duffy, I didn't mean to make it sounds so final - I'm still going to pop off with my opinion from time to time after i leave, as well as writing about the leaving process too.

Excellent. I'm sure there are stories untold due to self-censorship. Will we be hearing those? ;-)

Your blog is one of the most informative one I have come across in the UAE & I really admire you for your effort for the roundabouts & mosques series.

All the best for your future :-)

duffy, I don't know what you are talking about - no one here is afraid to say what they really think, are they? ;)

Actually the biggest thing that stops me from talking about bad things is not fear of what might happen to me but just fear of seeming ungrateful. My family and I have been treated so well that to criticize seems rude and churlish.

But you never know, I might write a few things that I would not have before.

Best of luck to you. Your UAE insights will be missed. Hope you will post about re-entry.

Oh........I'm going to miss the phrase "bss & brn"...

I hope you continue as an admin @ the UAE Comm blog.

I guess you'll miss Al Ain but will be happy to be back home too.

I've happened to randomly bump into people who happen to be teachers in Al Ain...it always reminds me of you!

Don't disappear! :)

Thanks red pen. I'm planning on posting about the process of leaving.

Thanks for your kind words too, i*. I'm fairly sure that the Emirates has gotten too far into my heart to give it up completely. I'm not sure if I'll remain an admin at the community blog, but I'll still pop in and explain why everyone is wrong about everything. ;)
