



One thing that I just noticed (and it only took me six months to notice this) about the fountains here: In America, fountains like this would have coins in them from people making wishes, but here they are completely coinless. So I wonder, is this because tossing coins into fountains is solely a Western superstition, or because any coins that get tossed in are quickly fished out, or both.
