This blog began as a description of our life in Al Ain, UAE (United Arab Emirates). Brn worked at the UAE University Libraries Deanship for three years and Bss homeschooled our four children, D, B, P, and O. After returning to the the USA for five years, we are living in Abu Dhabi now.

A Lovely Afternoon
This is the perfect time to live in Al Ain. In an earlier post, Brn shared pictures of flowers that are blooming in our area. Increase that by the hundreds to get an accurate mental image of Al Ain right now. Beautiful! The weather right now is perfect. I will be the first to admit that I have been cold this winter. However, the temps this week have been fabulous! Perfect weather for spending time together at one of Al Ain's many parks. This afternoon we packed a picnic lunch and spent the afternoon at Towayya Park. In my opinion, this is the most beautiful park in Al Ain. Every time I step foot into the park, my entire body relaxes because of all of the greenery. It's the closest I can come to feeling like being back home. We lounged on our mat, ate hotdogs and carrot sticks, and watched the kids play. Brn stretched out and took a nap. I dozed off a few times, myself, with O snuggled in my lap. It was so nice to walk around and notice all of the other families who had the same idea we had......a picnic in the park with family. I only hope the weather stays this way for several more weeks so we can enjoy many more park days together!
