Big Changes

I have avoided writing about this for some time now. I really haven't revealed much personal info on this blog because we are pretty private and because I reckon that most readers of it aren't that interested in our humdrum lives. But this is going to make some big changes in what happens from now on, so I really need to explain at least briefly what is going on.

Bss has been sick all summer, since at least May. So we visited numerous doctors here in Al Ain and Dubai to try to find out what exactly is wrong. They ran tests of every sort (labwork, MRIs, CT scans, etc) on her to try to find out what is wrong. But all the tests that were done here have not discovered what exactly is wrong. So Bss and all the kids have moved back to North Carolina in the US (with family) so that she can go to the doctors there, and I am staying here alone, at least for now, depending on what the doctors back in the US find out. It could be that I will have to leave to join them or I might be able to stay until my contract is complete in June. I just don't know right now.

In all this, I have learned some interesting things about the medical system and insurance scheme (apparently it isn't called a "scheme" for nothing) that I'll probably share.

Anyway, this is why I haven't been posting much over the last month, and why, if you are on the proper listserv, you might have seen my list of furniture for sale yesterday or today.

I pray that Bss gets well soon, and makes the decisions easy for you.

I don't know the nature of the ailment, but focussing on a good healthy wholesome diet can do wonders. I suggest you get this book called You Are What you Eat by Dr Gillain McKeith.

Hello Brian, we're regular readers of your journal.

I've recently endured the worst scare of my life. A benign tumor in my head. Spent two weeks at Mount Sinai in NYC.

But what mattered most than those sessions at Mount Sinai, was the love & support of my other half, my parents and our friends.

So whatever you do, please never lose hope and be there for Bss. I know you don't need me to tell you this but it makes a big difference and I say this having endured a recent scare.

I pray for Bss, you and your kids.

God Bless.

You take care :)

Catherine

P.S.: Please do keep us posted about Bss through your blog. Thanks :)

I hope Bss will be well soon, that you can all be reunited and that any other worries will be happily resolved soon. Best wishes to you all.

I'm sure we're all hoping that it turns out to be a minor problem with a simple solution.

Didn't realise you had resumed posting (wondered about that) and then I come here to find this. Really sad to hear of Bss's illness. I wish she could have been cured here in Al Ain, but these things are not in our hands. I really hope it goes away quickly, and your family will have put health problems firmly behind you.

All the best to you (all of you) no matter where you are.

I am so sorry to hear about these struggles... which are so very real and in the foreground of everyday thought and plan for not only today but the future. Much more impact than words on a blog can convey, and so much more personal to you and your family than anyone can know except God. I will pray for you as you are in this battle and trust in God's amazing goodness and love for you, light overcomes darkness!
